During my time on Blacktop Hoops, I worked as a Character Animator under Animation Lead Abel Salazar. My role covered several stages of the animation pipeline, starting with importing motion capture data and integrating it into the game environment for the games campaign.
I was responsible for adjusting rigs and applying skin weights to ensure the character assets were ready for implementation. Once the mocap was in place, I handled cleanup and refinement to polish the data for gameplay. I also brought in assets across various geo-specific locations within the project and supplemented the mocap with hand-keyed animation where needed, particularly for transitions and stylized moments that required a more nuanced touch.
Additionally, I contributed to facial animation, enhancing character expressiveness and bringing more life to in-game moments. This project gave me valuable experience working in a collaborative, real-time animation pipeline and deepened my understanding of both technical integration and performance-focused animation.
